The advantage is not speed, it is that the framing, the electrical and the finish are carried by the same crew. Floor levels meet at the doorways. Trim lines up from one room to the next. Nobody is standing about waiting on somebody else’s trade to turn up, because there is no handover.

Crawl spaces and unused levels brought into the house as finished living space, tied into what already exists.

The test is whether anyone can tell afterwards. That is settled long before the finish goes on — by headroom, by where the stair lands, and by whether the heating and power come off the system already in the house or get bolted alongside it.

Rooms sealed off, floors protected, accommodations made as they are needed, the site swept before anyone goes home.

Most of these jobs are done with the family still in the house. That is a set of habits rather than a promise: the rooms not being worked on stay usable, and the ones that are get sealed off at the end of every day.
